Alessandria
The “Antonio Vivaldi” Conservatory of Alessandria, founded in the 19th century and now an institution for higher education in music, is housed in the historic Palazzo Cuttica di Cassine. With 45 classrooms, two concert halls, and around 500 students, it offers foundational, preparatory, university-level, and doctoral courses, as well as the “Musica Prima” program and the Adult Music School. Its wide range of educational paths includes classical music, jazz, electronic music, early music, traditional music, composition, music education, and music therapy. It leads the AFAM doctoral program in “Practices and Repertoires of Italian Music”
and participates with two scholarships in the national PhD program in “Artistic Research on Musical Heritage.” Each year, the “Vivaldi” Conservatory organizes over 100 concerts, theatrical/opera performances, and seminars.
